Ceres Taito
Ceres Taito (セレス・タイト Seresu Tyte?) is a student at Holy Land Academy in the Holy Land who is in the same class as Kenshi.

He is a Seikishi, like Kenshi,[1] but unlike most Seikishi who are born in nobility, he was born into a common family. He is in love with his childhood friend, Hazuki, but because of his Seikishi status, he cannot be with her. Male Seikishi are forbidden to have relationships with commoners, and his own family doubt her intentions, believing him to be using her to gain prestige (a hypocritical view, as they greatly enjoy the benefits of Ceres' status). It was only with the help of Kenshi that they were able to run away together. [2] They fled to a remote area of Havonia, but after the country was invaded, a corrupt politician turned them in to Babalun's forces, led by Dagmeyr, Lan, and her bandits. The male Seikishi Cliff came up with a cruel plan to use Ceres to kill Kenshi; saying that they would only free Hazuki if he cooperated (a lie, as Lan's group planned to sell her into slavery), they attached an improvised bomb made from ancient technology on Ceres Seikijin and told him to set it off after grabbing Kenshi, killing himself at the same time. Kenshi ultimately defeated this plot by compressing the bomb and firing the captured energy away from them. After the failed attempt, Kenshi and the others saved Hazuki and she and Ceres joined them onboard the Swan.[3]

- Ceres shares his name with the Roman goddess of agriculture, Ceres, which is the origin of the word cereal.
