When she returns to school, she receives unexpected help from a mysterious warrior disguised as “Cool Red” from The Blue Sky Cool Rangers.
However, just as the now-Queen Tsunami makes first contact with Earth, Romio has other plans...
Full Recap
After a brief summary of the series so far, the episode begins right at the end of the previous one. As Pretty Sammy loses her balance on the roof railing and falls to the ground, Ryo-Ohki tells her to use teleportation magic again. She does so and manages to teleport out of sight before hitting the ground. Misao asks Ryo-Ohki where Sammy went, but he’s not sure considering she hadn’t perfected the ability.
Pretty Sammy finds herself in the living room of her house and is immediately greeted by Ginji and Honoka, though thankfully they’ve yet to realize her true identity. Honoka brings a huge cake for her to eat, and while Sammy tries explaining she doesn’t have time, she doesn’t want to disappoint her mother who put so much effort into baking it for her and proceeds to dig in.
In Juraihelm, Tsunami and the priesthood are watching Pretty Sammy indulge herself. The priests say that until the balance of Gemini has been restored, they will be forced to postpone Tsunami’s inauguration ceremony and proceed to leave. Tsunami is then met by a concealed woman dressed in red and black who offers to help Tsunami with her problem, and she accepts it.
Meanwhile, Ramia is complimenting Romio for her work with Love-Me Eimy. Romio thinks it’s time to get Eimy to do something more evil, and she begins operating her remote controller. On Earth, Eimy gets the command and herself orders her two Lovely Monsters “Left” and “Right” to do something evil, but in true class representive fashion, mentions that they don’t break school rules. Left and Right fly into the air and perform “Love-Me Cross Attack”, and combine their hair and create a massive saw that begins cutting through Umi no Hoshi Elementary and forces Mihoshi and class 4-3 escapes outside. Kenji hopes that the U.N. Peace Corps will come, but the show itself reminds him that the Lovely Madams had already done them in. Unfortunately, it seems the Earth will be split into two!
Misao and Ryo-Ohki find Pretty Sammy just as she finishes eating and leaves her home. They show her the giant saw that’s cutting through the school nearby, though Ginji thinks it’s the work of a giant carpenter.
While Sammy, Misao, and Ryo-Ohki run back to school, Love-Me Eimy hosts a concert song, and class 4-3 discovers that not only is she just as bad at singing as Eimi Date, her lyrics are also very inconsistent (she simultaneously sings about saving the world and that the world should be destroyed). Hiroto and Konoha then tell Love-Me Eimy to stop destroying things, but Eimy decides to get rid of class 4-3. Thankfully, before she can, she’s interrupted by blasts of energy coming from someone who’s dressed up as “Cool Red”, one of the characters from the TV show The Blue Sky Cool Rangers. Cool Red tells Love-Me Eimy to stop sawing the world in two, but Eimy orders Left and Right to attack Red instead. However, Cool Red proves to be more than a match for Left and Right.
As their fight continues, Pretty Sammy decides to show herself despite being embarrassed about being late, though Love-Me Eimy doesn’t pay much attention to her and class 4-3 lambasts her about it (with Konoha successfully guessing that Sammy was busy eating cake). Cool Red tells Sammy that Love-Me Eimy is being controlled by someone from afar and probably has some sort of receiver on her that she must destroy. Love-Me Eimy proceeds to challenge Sammy to a fight, though Sammy first looks all over her body and through her dress to try and find the receiver. Ryo-Ohki needs to tell her that it’s clearly visible on top of her head.
In Juraihelm, Ramia tells Romio that things aren’t going well. Romio says that she’ll have to resort to her “final plan”. Ramia asks what that is, but Romio says it’s a secret and leaves.
Pretty Sammy traps Love-Me Eimy inside the pretty zone, and though Eimy tries attacking first, Sammy’s Pretty Coquettish Bomber overpowers it and successfully destroys both the receiver and the remote controller in Juraihelm. Eimi Date immediately regains control—though she doesn’t remember what had happened—and begs Mihoshi to not expel her on account of breaking so many school rules.
Without Love-Me Eimy to help them, Cool Red manages to defeat Left and Right, but one of the blows from Right destroys their mask, revealing a woman with spiky grey hair. She introduces herself to Pretty Sammy as the “Overly Splendid” Oryo, a magic guard from Juraihelm.
With Love-Me Eimy’s defeat, the balance of Gemini is again restored. The priesthood returns and congratulates Tsunami on becoming queen of Juraihelm. Now that Juraihelm can take its former position in space, they ask Tsunami to make first contact with Earth.
Sasami and Misao are shocked to see the Moon suddenly turn green and get bigger, but Oryo explains that the Moon is Juraihelm. Then, Tsunami broadcasts a message to the entire world introducing herself and Juraihelm to Earth’s people and explaining much of what the priests had told her. However, the broadcast cuts off and is replaced by Romio, who tells everyone to ignore what Tsunami had just said and that instead, Juraihelm will be destroying Earth.
Ramia, alongside Rumiya who is still stuck in a crystal, confronts Romio about her wanting to destroy Earth. Romio says that she wants to destroy Earth because it’s what she desires. She then activates a device that begins draining Ramia’s magical powers and causes her to collapse. Romio explains that this system—the NT System—absorbs magical power, and now everyone in Juraihelm begins to lose their magical powers. She tells Ramia that none of this would've had to have happened if only Love-Me Eimy defeated Pretty Sammy; but now, Romio tells her that she is no longer needed and that she'll be taking her magic while she dries up and blows away.
Summoning the last of her magical power, Ramia frees Rumiya from the crystal and throws him through a portal to Earth so he can get Pretty Sammy’s help. As she collapses again, Romio tells her that Earth is a “hateful” planet and its humans are the “mites of the Universe”.
Oryo, Sammy, and Misao watch as Juraihelm turns from green to brown. Meanwhile, Washu plays a tune on her guitar and sings about pulling all-nighters and finally finishing her NT System.
Trivia
- Love-Me Eimy's image song, "Love-Me Eimy te Yobanaide [Don't Call Me Love-Me Eimy]" by Hisoka Moriya is the last such song in this series.
- During Love-Me Eimy’s concert, she briefly holds up a giant mallet with “1000t” written on it. This is most likely an homage to the several huge mallets that are often used by Kaori Makimura, one of the main characters of the City Hunter franchise.
- “Overly Splendid” Oryo is obviously a stand-in for Ryoko, and she is the final main Tenchi Muyo! character to make an appearance in this series.
- "Oryo" in Japanese can be translated to "most honorable demon"; it's a fitting name considering how this incarnation of Ryoko is a dignified guard instead of a space pirate.
- During the scene where everyone in Juraihelm is losing their magical powers, Hikari—the one-time unwilling villain from the episode “You are the Sunshine Girl”— can be briefly seen in a panning shot.
- On the sides of Romio’s NT System are two miniature versions of Azaka and Kamidake, though their kanji isn’t colored blue and red respectively.
- While subtle in this episode, Misao started to show some sparks of her Pixy Misa side in her civilian persona. For instance, she and Ryo-Ohki were openly exasperated with Sasami's cake shenanigans, a feeling Misao wouldn't have dared to openly express at the beginning of the series. She also cheerfully encouraged Sasami and even struck a magical girl pose, similar to what she did as Pixy Misa in "The Island of Love-love Monsters," further demonstrating that Sasami's influence has helped her become more open to expressing her feelings.
