Honoka Kawai (河合 ほのか) is a supporting character in Magical Project S. As Sasami's cheery mother, Honoka is the owner of CD Vision, a video store that's connected to their home.
Description
Honoka is both a store owner and a stay-at-home mother, although she is often slacking off (including playing video games at one point). At one point, sales at CD Vision begin to decline, which convinces Honoka and Ginji to launch a special Pretty Sammy sales event to bring back business.
Honoka is very much in love with her husband Ginji, and it's rare not to see them in each other's arms whenever they're together. Their connection is so strong that Honoka can even receive love signals from Ginji from far away as a deserted island. At the same time, she can become jealous, as when she uppercuts Ginji when he attempts to help defeat the Love-love Monster "Break-Up Girl" by faking a love confession.
Along with working at CD Vision, Honoka is as caring as a parent to Sasami as Ginji is. She is also a avid baker, and Washu seems to have been giving her scores on her desserts, as when she gave scored one of her cakes a high-score of 92 points. Later on, when Pretty Sammy retreats from fighting Love-Me Eimy and inadvertently teleports back to her house, Honoka brings out a massive strawberry cake she'd been baking for Sasami. While Sammy doesn't have time and tries to leave, she's compelled to start eating when Honoka nearly comes to tears.
