Pretty Sammy and Pixy Misa, accompanied by Ryo-Ohki and Rumiya, have their final face-off against Romio onboard her battleship, with the fates of both Earth—which is about to be swallowed up by the sun—and Juraihelm hanging in the balance.

Full Recap

Still on Juraihelm, Washu tells Ginji that Earth has entered the Sun’s gravitational field and has only two hours left to be saved by Pretty Sammy and Pixy Misa. Ginji tells her that Sammy, no, her daughter, is not a fool.

On her battleship, Romio addresses Pretty Sammy as her “cute little sister”, and tells a story about how, as a baby, she floated down a magic river and was picked up by two humans—Honoka and Ginji—and she mentions her blue hair as proof that she’s not related to them. Pretty Sammy, against all odds, actually believes the story and is about to embrace Romio when Pixy Misa kicks her in the face and calls her an idiot for falling for such a “big joke”.

Romio is impressed with Pixy Misa’s deductive ability, but says that she now has to destroy all of them. Pixy Misa tries attacking Romio, but she is electrocuted and thrown back by her “M Field”. Romio now explains that such conduct by humans is what drives her to destruction. Humans, she says, are reliant on civilization and cause nature to suffer and die, and that they don’t deserve to live.

Sammy reminds Romio that Juraihelm and Earth were once the same, but Romio responds by saying that when they split, the evil part of the civilization went to Earth. She now makes an even more surprising revelation: she is a human and long ago, was a magical girl herself, but she couldn’t stop the conflict no matter how hard she tried. Thus, Romio believes that Earth is infecting Juraihelm with its evil and wants to put an end to it. Sammy keeps trying to reason with Romio, but seeing as she refuses to change her mind, Sammy attacks her, but like Misa, she can't get past Romio’s M Field.

Ryo-Ohki tells Sammy that they need to destroy Romio’s NT System to defeat her, and he and Sammy manage to run past Romio and into her battleship as the latter is kicked in the face by a recovered Pixy Misa. Rumiya also kicks Romio before she can retaliate, but when she asks him why he opposes her when he’s not even a human, Rumiya blurts out that there’s a girl on Earth that he loves; Pixy Misa proceeds to tease him about admitting his feelings.

Inside the battleship, Sammy and Ryo-Ohki find a weakened Ramia, who points them in the direction of the NT System. Sammy thanks Ramia as they hurry along, with Ramia commenting that she has no idea what’s been going on all along. Meanwhile, Pixy Misa continues attacking Romio, but her magic is absorbed and thrown back at her and Rumiya.

Sammy and Ryo-Ohki find the room containing the NT System. Sammy charges at it, but it’s protected by a powerful barrier. Using a full-powered magic attack, she manages to break the barrier, but she runs out of magic in her baton to destroy the NT System itself. She tries repeatedly hitting it with her baton to no avail, but as soon as both she and Ryo-Ohki hit it together, they manage to break it, albeit damaging the baton in the process.

They teleport back to where Romio, Pixy Misa, and Rumiya are, but Roimo says that even if they destroyed the NT System, her magical cannon still has energy and is aimed at Earth. Sammy and Misa teleport out into space in front of the cannon before it can fire so they can block it. To Romio’s shock, they actually manage to absorb the cannon’s energy and now, an enraged Ramia rushes over to her and chases her off her ship.

Now, taking in the energy of everyone who believes in them, Sammy and Misa perform “Pretty Lovely Final Coquettish Bomber”, generating a heart-shaped light representing the fusion of magic and science that annihilates Romio’s battleship, but causes Sammy’s magical baton to shatter in the process. Both Earth and Juraihelm have been saved, but both Sammy and Misa have disappeared in the aftermath.

Sasami and Misao wake up inside their M-field, Misao deducing that the magical recoil sent them into outer space. Sasami wants to apologize to Misao for getting her into this much trouble on her behalf, but Misao is glad just to be with her, and now asks her to listen to her first performance. She sings the lyrics to the song she wrote for the school festival, but they are soon found by Tsunami, Ramia, Ryo-Ohki, Rumiya, and Washu and Ginji—who have fused Washu’s rocket ship with the Endeavour shuttle.

Sasami is excited to go home with Ryo-Ohki, but he regrettably says that it’s time he returned to the magical world. Sasami begins crying, but Ryo-Ohki promises that when Earth and Juraihelm are able to understand each other, they’ll see eachother again. Meanwhile, Misao asks Rumiya if he can visit her again as a bird, but Rumiya is still too embarrassed to admit his feelings for her. Frustrated with his little brother’s hesitation, Ramia pushes him into her, causing him to kiss her on the cheek. Thus, they go their separate ways...

Several months later, Sasami narrates how things have changed, with queen Tsunami having her ascension ceremony, Earth and Juraihelm leader’s having discussions (including Ramia intimidating the U.S. President over the phone), and everyone on Earth slowly learning how to use magic. Soon, she says, the people of Earth and Juraihelm will be able to get along, which means she can see Ryo-Ohki again!

At school, Mihoshi addresses her class on the last day before they graduate and proceeds to start crying. Kiyone, as usual, goes over to her class to complain about the noise, but suddenly, a portal opens up bringing Ryo-Ohki through. Sasami is excited to see him again, but he tells her there’s no time for a reunion. Suddenly, Tsunami has arrived as well, and she explains that there’s new trouble on Mars. She hands Sasami her new magical baton so she can transform into “New Pretty Sammy”, but she inadvertently reveals Sasami’s secret to the entire class (of course, they had a very strong suspicion about her being Pretty Sammy this whole time).

Now, Sasami once again transforms into Pretty Sammy. In the post-credits scene, it turns out that Romio has escaped to Mars and has taken control of an army of Martians determined to conquer Earth. Thankfully, Pretty Sammy and Pixy Misa arrive, and Pretty Sammy puts a swift end to Romio’s ambitions with a massive Pretty Coquettish Bomber, leaving a heart-shaped imprint on the planet’s surface.

Trivia

  • Kiyone’s appearance in this episode marks her first since the episode All I Want is You.
  • Hikari makes a second cameo appearance in the scene just before Pretty Sammy and Pixy Misa destroy Romio's battleship.
  • This is the only episode to use the series' opening theme as it's ending theme.
  • Washu's statement that the Earth has "entered" the sun's gravitational field is inaccurate from an astronomical standpoint. Technically, all bodies that revolve around the sun, including Earth, are within the sun's gravitation field regardless of distance. What Washu means to say is that the Earth has broken its orbit and is falling into the sun.
