Mizuki

Mizuki is Kiriko's 2nd generation Royal Treeship.

Background

Lady Seto partially suggested that Kiriko be adopted into the royal Masaki family and go through a tree selection ceremony for political (marrying her to Seina and connecting him to Jurai) and tactical reasons (the need for the ship that results). The fact that the royal trees went along with it and that she was chosen by a second generation tree proves her worthiness.

Mizuki is a very young tree, and shy. In the tree selection ceremony, the person greets each tree and the tree that answers back is your partner (The tree chooses the person), but when Kiriko greeted her, she was almost too shy to speak. She was so small, it was hard to find a part of her tree to make her key.

Mizuki was bonded with Fuku/ Kamidake II to create a super hybrid ship to defeat the Unko and the Good Luck Fleet. On their maiden voyage, they instead jumped straight to The Great Daruma, the planet-sized flagship of the Daluna Pirare Guild. As a 2nd Generation tree, it was able to demand information gathered by the 3rd Generation tree at the center of the nearby Racepshi, gaining precise technical read outs on the Daruma and other pirate ships. As a fused ship of a Royal Tree and ship made by Washu, it was able to create the flower-patterned super-defensive Light Hawk Wings. And thanks to Fuku's skills, it was able to produce a version Ryo-Ohki's Gungnir spinning attack, the Gai Vulg, a spinning needle attack. In the end, their combined might meant the tiny ship was able to single-handedly take down the giant one.

Trivia

The Mizuki is possibly named in honor of Shigeru Mizuki, a World War II veteran and celebrated creator of the legendary eGe No Kitaro.
