Having arrived on the now-desolate Juraihelm, Pretty Sammy and Ryo-Ohki make their way to the tower shrine to find Tsunami and destroy Romio's NT System that's sucking the planet dry of its magic. When they arrive, however, the NT System drains Sammy's magic and forces her to transform back into Sasami Kawai. Pixy Misa, who travelled through space with Rumiya to help Sammy, soon arrives on Juraihelm herself and is tasked by Washu with delivering her own NT System device to Sammy.
Full Recap
Another narration starts off the episode by summarizing the events of the previous episode. In the present, Ryo-Ohki says that Juraihelm used to be a beautiful world that was covered in flowers, but now that Juraihelm’s magic is gone, it’s become like Hell. Pretty Sammy sees a structure in the distance and turns to ask Ryo-Ohki about it, but instead of a cute pet, she finds she’s standing next to a boy wearing Juraihelm clothing. This is, of course, Ryo-Ohki, who has only now shown his actual appearance to Sammy.
Sammy panics at realizing that the cute “cat” that she’d been living with (including sharing baths with) was a person all along, but Ryo-Ohki insists that becoming a cat was the only way he’d have been accepted into Sasami’s family and that the neighbors would get suspicious if a boy suddenly moved in with them. Now, Ryo-Ohki wants to make sure that Tsunami is alright, and with Ryo-Ohki grabbing Sammy’s hand. They head for the tower in the distance to find her.
Romio is watching both of them and notes that they make a nice-looking couple and decides to give them a nice “present”. She activates the NT System which creates several squid-like monsters. Then, an alert informs her of more intruders.
Pixy Misa, having now installed a wheel on the outside of the space shuttle Endeavour, is singing her theme song with modified lyrics about how she’s going to save Pretty Sammy. Rumiya asks if she could be a little more serious about things, but Misa insists that everything’s going to be fine now that she’s here. Just then, Romio activates the defense system and a barrage of lasers bear down on the Endeavour. An unpanicked Pixy Misa tries turning the shuttle to starboard and then to port, but she completely fails to dodge the lasers and proceeds to fall to Juraihelm.
Ryo-Ohki and Pretty Sammy are inside the tower and enter one of the rooms, finding it to be dilapidated and worn out much like the rest of the building. Ryo-Ohki explains that this building was constructed a long time ago and had been sustained with magic, but now that it’s gone, it's become decrepit; now, he understands what Tsunami meant when she said Juraihelm had no future unless it’s spiritual culture merged with Earth’s materialistic culture. He tells her that they should continue on, but he becomes fixated on her suddenly calling him “Ryo-kun” instead of “Ryo-chan” (-kun being a less endearing honorific than -chan). He then gets closer to her and tells her to focus because there could be enemies nearby, but Sammy smacks him with her magical baton with embarrassment clear on her face.
Washu and Ginji have survived the crash, and Washu measures that Juraihelm has just 2% magical power remaining. She brings out a heart-shaped device with an “NT” chip and tells him that they need to get this to Pretty Sammy.
On Earth, despite the heat becoming nearly unbearable, class 4-3 shows up for class, albeit wearing only their underwear, including Konoha, who tries impressing Hiroto with her new swimsuit.
Ryo-Ohki and Sammy reach the shrine room and find Tsunami laying down on the floor. They initially panic when they see her decomposed face, but this was just a mask that she was wearing as a prank. Ryo-Ohki tries asking her what had happened, but after a suspenseful pause, she admits she has no idea. Thankfully, Oryo is lying nearby and tells them that Romio used some strange device to suck dry all of Juraihelm’s magical power. Tsunami tells them that they need to destroy the device, but when Sammy says that only now is she joining the conversation, she feigns dizziness and goes back to sleep on the floor.
Suddenly, Romio announces her presence and sends her squid-like monsters to attack them. Pretty Sammy destroys them with Pretty Coquettish Bomber, but Romio activates the NT System and drains Sammy’s magic, causing her to revert back to Sasami.
Outside the tower, Washu can sense that Sammy has reverted back to Sasami, but just then, Pixy Misa calls out to her and promptly crashes on the surface of Juraihelm. After Ginji lifts her out of the ground, Washu hands her the heart-shaped device—her NT System—and asks her to deliver it to Sasami.
Ryo-Ohki manages to destroy one of the monsters chasing Sasami, but his magic is just about used up. Just before another one attacks, it's destroyed by Pixy Misa, who introduces herself and Rumiya—now in his regular form. After destroying the last remaining monsters with Pixy Sexual Fire, Misa hands Sasami Washu's NT system and plays a message from her. Washu explains that she used to data from researching Pretty Sammy to develop this magic absorbing system. Sasami tells her that there's no magic on Juraihelm, but Washu tells her that she'll attract it and instructs her to attach the NT System to her magical baton and say the words "Magical Sign!".
Sasami does so, and on Earth, one of Washu's inventions, a crab-shaped submarine crewed by miniature Washu robots, surfaces from the sea and shoots a beam of magic at Juraihelm that's absorbed by Sasami's magical baton.
With this newfound reserve of magic, Sasami transforms back into Pretty Sammy. Fighting together with Pixy Misa, they quickly dispatch another wave of monsters. Meanwhile, Washu tells Ginji she discovered that magic is an incarnation of people's souls—a composite of spirit and substance— and that this substance is the sincere heart of humans that responds to their thoughts and wishes, and makes them a reality.
Romio watches as her minions are destroyed, but while she notes that the creation of another NT System is problematic, she says that things will be over once her NT System absorbs their magic again. After walking over an unresponsive Ramia, she activates the NT System, but Pixy Misa tells Sammy to press the NT Switch on her baton attachment, and it creates a protective "M field" that negates the effect of the NT System as long as their inside it. Unfortunately, Tsunami and Oryo are in pain as their magic is being drained again, and suddenly, a huge battleship carrying Romio's NT System rises out of the water of the shrine and goes into space.
Rumiya says they have no chance against that thing, but determined to destroy the NT System and save both Earth and Juraihelm's futures, Pretty Sammy and Pixy Misa join their batons and use pretty teleport to go to the ship. Tsunami gets up momentarily to wish them well , saying the "peace of the Universe" is resting with them before collapsing aging.
After teleporting to the outside of the ship in space, Romio welcomes the four, but shockingly, she addresses Pretty Sammy as Sasami Kawai, her younger sister! What could Romio possibly be talking about?
Right before the credits, a short scene sees Eimi, who is still dressed as Love-Me Eimy despite having been freed from Romio's control, furiously eating a bowl of rice at home while her family cowers in a corner. When asked by her parents why she turned into magical girl, Eimy tells them to stop bugging her and that she can't change back to her normal self.
Trivia
- Pixy Misa’s pirate outfit when piloting the space shuttle Endeavour is a near-perfect cosplay of Captain Harlock, a character by manga artist Leiji Matsumoto from the 1970s, even including the signature scar over the left side of her face.
- During the scene where Konoha shows off her new swimsuit to Hiroto, she says that it’s “Fellini’s new design”. The name most likely comes from Federico Fellini, a famous Italian film director and screenwriter who paid particular attention to costumes and makeup. However, in real life, Fellini died in 1993, four years before this episode aired.
- The "NT" system, which stands for "New Technology," is likely a reference to "Windows NT." However, while it was meant to sound high-tech and futuristic for Pretty Sammy and Romio to use magic gadgets based on their namesake, this version of Windows was already three years old when this episode aired in 1996, with the then-current version being Windows 95.
