Project Eden is the twenty-sixth episode of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki. The second episode of OVA 5.
The events of the novel series Paradise War occur soon after the end of this episode and conclude before the next one begins.
Plot
In the opening, Kiriko talks with Amane, Ryoko Balta, Neju, Karen, Hakuren, Suiren, and Miki about making their permanent home for Seina and any wife and children of his. Jovia also pops up out of nowhere, and is pointedly included in this group allowed to move into the house. They all agree it will work well if the more alien among them can be suitably disguised. Acha, a Wau, and Airen, an elf, are mentioned in passing as those that could look the most out of place.
On the Mikagami, Seto argues with her Mirror Self, Kuis Panta, about how Kuis abandoned Seto to travel to the Renza Federation with Seina. Both are also kneeling under the scrutiny of Ringo Tatsuki, who wants to go over the money spent by Seto and Kuis while working the Renza situation. Her harsh questioning leaves them fallen to the floor. When she leaves, Minaho arrives and tells them "We got Approval" and the two of them tell the other "you go!"...
Kuis arrives on Earth, and while exchanging pleasantries about "how long it's been" since Sasami, Ayeka, and Noike have seen each her, she realizes something is wrong and she asks Sasami why it is they all know who she is (They know the top secret information that she is Mirror Seto). It turns out that Tenchi has "ascended" Ryu-oh (this definition is unexplained- possibly, Tenchi gave Ru-oh the abilities of a 1st generation tree) and that Noike's Kyoko seems to have 1st generation properties as well. 1st generation trees have access to the secrets of 2nd generation trees like Mikagami. In this way, it was passed on to them. Kyoko's evolution is big news, as it opens the possibility of strengthening Jurai's trees if Washu is cooperative. Plus, the situation boosts the already staggering power consolidated at the household.
Nobuyuki talks with Kiriko and Karen about how he and Katsuhito have discussed that eventually their new house and Tenchi's should be connected to create an "Earth Masaki Family." The rationale is that Tenchi and Seina have become too powerful and if either were to join the "Jurai Masaki Family" it would tip the power there, being a threat not only to the other Juraian families but may even be seen as a threat to the galaxy. So it would be better to separate them into their own entity.
Kuis explains to Kiriko, Karen, and Tenchi about how they are charging Seina with assisting with the proxy war they are preparing to unite the federation's remaining pirates into a formal country. She also asks Tenchi to assist Mihoshi in protecting the Earth from pirate interference while it is being held.
A mature Seina is fishing off Tabletop Island (aka Banjo Island) with Miki, Fuku, D, and Kirche. Seina is complaining about returning from the hard work in Renza only to be given another chore. They don't quite buy that though, they know he had fun in Renza and that this will be fun too.
Early morning. Ryo-Ohki finds Kenshi in their daily game of Hide and Seek on the roof near a resting Tokimi, under a bit of convincing camoflague. Everyone is waking up and Tenshi takes Kenshi and Ryo-Ohki out to the fields. Ryoko is the first to notice that "trouble-makers" have arrived, but in the fields we see that Tenchi has noticed too and instantly warps to outside a pirate ship in stealth mode. He lands on the hull and wraps it in a light field, places a delivery label on it and it disapears with a message that the delivery is confirmed.
At home, Rea, Noike, and Washu talk about how nice it is that Kenshi and Ryo-Ohki are like siblings. But as Ryo-Ohki summons her ship and transports the two of them inside for a joy-ride, Rea wonders if it's smart for him to go to his local school knowing so much. Washu shows off her solution, a simple hypnotic suggestion not to share anything he shouldn't while outside their house and village.
