Pixy Misa makes her introduction to Sasami and summons her first Love-love Monster, "CD Girl", forcing Sasami to transform into Pretty Sammy again. However, Pixy Misa is disappointed in Sammy's lack of abilities, and gives her three hours to train until they have a rematch.

Full Recap

Fulfilling the promise she made to the audience at the end of the previous episode, the mysterious evil magical girl introduces herself as Pixy Misa. She uses her magic to steal the CD Sasami was supposed to deliver right out of her hands and says "Calling Mystics". The CD is then turned into a Love-love Monster called "CD Girl", a spiky-haired rock star who begins throwing a flurry of CDs at Sammy. But soon, CD Girl runs out of CDs to throw, and while she takes time to pick them up, Sasami reluctantly transforms into Pretty Sammy again (though Ryo-Ohki has to remind her what phrase she's supposed to say).

Unfortunately, Pretty Sammy is just as helpless as Sasami was against CD Girl's attacks. Ryo-Ohki explains to Sammy that while she is unable to use her magical powers, she should be physically stronger after transforming. Thus, Sammy attempts to tackle CD Girl (even yelling "Pretty Tackle!"), but she bounces harmlessly off her. CD Girl is about to finish Sammy off when Pixy Misa interrupts the fight. She tells Sammy that she is disappointed that she can't use magical powers and that while she should finish her off right here and now, that would be boring. Instead, Misa orders Sammy to get to training, and that they'll have a rematch in three hours. After she leaves, Ryo-Ohki tells Sammy much the same.

In Juraihelm, Tsunami is mildly concerned about the evil magical girl that Sasami encountered but decides that Sasami will be fine since she was able to transform into Pretty Sammy. Ramia returns to greet her and easily convinces her that the appearance of this evil magical girl is nothing to be worried about.

Pretty Sammy and Ryo-Ohki return to Sasami's school to train on the equipment that's available. Two of Sasami's classmates that stayed after school, Hiroto and Kenji, notice Sammy training and greet her, but thankfully, they don't recognize her as Sasami.

Meanwhile, Pixy Misa and CD Girl are relaxing inside a tropical greenhouse when Rumiya puts her in touch with Ramia, who asks her if she has finished off Sammy yet. Misa casually dismisses her concern and tells her that she'll be finished in two hours. Rumiya expresses his doubt about being able to count on Misa. He later wakes Misa up napping and tells her to finish off Sammy, but she says that she doesn't feel like it because it's not fun. She instead orders CD Girl to do it herself.

Sammy continues her training at the school. After doing some pull-ups, she stands on the top of a handrail on the roof of the school as a test of courage, with Sammy breaking the fourth wall and telling the audience to not do what she's doing. Eimi, the class leader, finds Sammy and tells her that she has to follow school rules and can't stand on the handrails, even if she's a magical girl. Eimi then tries to pull Sammy off, but Sammy accidentally falls on top of her and stuns her, allowing her to escape.

Pretty Sammy and Ryo-Ohki return to the empty lot where they first encountered Pixy Misa. Sammy is exhausted from training, but Ryo-Ohki tells her that her tolerance to magic has increased, and now she can perform "Pretty Coquettish Bomber", the technique that will defeat the Love-love Monster. CD Girl then appears and attacks Sammy by using her guitar as an energy gun. Ryo-Ohki tells Sammy that she needs to concentrate her magic on her baton to use Pretty Coquettish Bomber, but Sammy can't focus while she's being harassed by CD Girl's attacks. However, Hiroto and Kenji happen to come across the commotion, and CD Girl decides to attack them. Thankfully, Sammy gets in front of them and is able to absorb CD Girl's attack.

Using the opening, Pretty Sammy performs Pretty Coquettish Bomber, which involves her trapping CD Girl in the "Pretty Space" before launching a heart-shaped magical projectile toward the Love-love Monster, sending her into orbit and crashing onto the Moon with a large heart-shaped imprint. Sammy then picks up the CD that was used to create the Love-love Monster, lamenting that it's now too scratched up for anyone to purchase. However, Hiroto and Kenji congratulate Sammy on her victory.

Meanwhile, Misao wakes up, not remembering her time as Pixy Misa, and catches a glimpse of Rumiya in his bird form before he flies away.

In Juraihelm, the balance of Gemini shifts slightly toward good to Tsunami's approval and Ramia's frustration. She returns to her brother Rumiya, now in his humanoid form again, and takes her anger out on him by kicking him high into the sky.

The next day, Sasami meets Misao again on their way to school, but Misao notices that she's slumping forward. Sasami admits that she's a little stiff, and then mumbles to herself that she'll never be a magical girl again. Just then, Ryo-Ohki finds Sasami and tells her that Pixy Misa is still around and that she's just getting started with being Pretty Sammy. Sasami, disheartened, tells herself that she in for a rough ride.

Trivia

  • This episode makes several allusions to Sailor Moon, which aired at the same time as Magical Project S in Japan.
    • Sasami forgets the phrase required to transform, needing Ryo-Ohki to remind her that it's "Pretty Mutation Magical Recall". Likewise, in the second episode of Sailor Moon ("Punishment Awaits! The House of Fortune is the Monster Mansion"), Usagi forgets what phrase she needs to say in order to transform, needing Luna to remind her that it's "Moon Prism Power Makeup".
    • Sasami's schoolmates are unable to identify Pretty Sammy as Sasami, despite looking the exact same apart for the outfit. Likewise, ordinary people are unable to identify Sailor Moon or the other Sailor Guardians as their civilian counterparts, despite them simply wearing a different outfit.
    • Pixy Misa's Love-love Monster is created out of an inanimate object, which is the same as how the Death Busters, the main antagonists of Sailor Moon S, create monsters to battle the Sailor Guardians.
    • Pretty Sammy's magical attack, Pretty Coquettish Bomber, involves Sammy launching a large, heart-shaped projectile directly at her enemy. This is similar to "Moon Spiral Heart Attack", the attack that Sailor Moon uses for the first half of Sailor Moon S.
  • While Ryo-Ohki implies that the reason Sasami isn't recognized is due to magic, several characters are able to figure it out through deduction because Sasami never bothered to change her behavior or her appereance in any significant way. Washu, for example, was almost instantly able to identify her in her debut episode, and just played along, pretending she didn't. It's later hinted that Ginji and Honoka figured it out, and even guilt tripped her to help them with sales, all while pretending they didn't know. The finale, however, confirms that all of Sasami's classmates had been able to discover her secret throughout the series.
