Widow was the Galaxy's deadliest serial killer, responsible for the deaths of unknown tens of thousands, usually through indirect action but she was also an accomplished killer. She evaded capture for hundreds of years until a sudden change of heart, thanks to meeting Seina Yamada, inspired her to turn herself in. After her death, her astral soul was recycled in the creation of Fuku.
Appearance
Widow's original appearance is unknown. She had lived for so-long, and had altered her appearances so many times, that even she could no longer remember what she originally looked like. She would steal the appearances of those she encountered, then their lives, and then their wealth when in-need of more funds.
In her final guise, she was a beautiful, thin, young looking woman with sharp features, short caramel blonde hair, and dark brown eyes.
History
Widow's birthplace and early history is unknown. Her existence was merely discovered by her swath of destruction and her habit of taunting the families of her victims.
She was a psychopath. Her only pleasure was in killing as many people as possible and causing mass suffering. She did not care for money but would take it as proof of her deeds and to hurt the surviving loved ones of her victims. She also kept precise records of her kills and collected genetic material to prove her actions.
Like Seina, she had a biased probability but it only affected others. She specialized in manipulating minor events into a chain reaction that caused the psychosis of all involved. She is most deadly when dealing with tightly-knit communities of like-minded people, especially those with cult-like beliefs.
Possibly her greatest crime was practically destroying the galactic power of the Airai theocracy. Taking advantage of small scandals in a deeply religious world, she caused a mass suicide event that then caused a rebellion on the planet. Airi (Magma) Masaki, was the daughter of the leader of the world and when he tried to quell the rebellion he too was killed. The details are mysterious but the deaths involved spanned the world and collapsed their society almost overnight.
Meeting Seina
Seina's involvement in the mass capture of pirates could not be kept quiet and led to an influx of pirate spies, human hunters, and assassins. Widow decided to join the chaos that was bound to happen. Widow found herself a proper position to influence cult behavior, the secretary in the Ryoko Balta fan club founded by Alan, Barry, and Cohen (and immediately sowed discord and distrust in their leadership, although that was not hard).
The Kurumitsu information network headed by Minami shared the reliable rumor that she had arrived in the Galaxy Academy. This alerted Airi of her presence but as details were not available and her appearance unknown, nothing much could be done.
On the night before Seina's first of day of school, when he was brought into the city by Kenneth and Raju and unintentionally caused havoc involving downed computer networks and Seiryo going on a highly destructive rampage, Widow discreetly met Seina at a cafe. She exchanged small talk as she decided how she would kidnap him and sell him to human hunters. However, Seina's bad luck struck when a stray shot from Seiryo's rampaging ship hit their building and caused their second story balcony to fall. Seina instinctively embraced her and shielded her from the fall. With this selfless act, the woman who had never felt fear in her life became scared, not of the fall, but of herself and the harm she was prepared to do. Seina took her hand and helped her up and tried to apologize for getting her caught in his bad luck. She found herself blushing red and streaming tears. He then explained how he was used to getting caught in his own bad luck but getting others involved made him very guilty. With this, she fell in love with him, and decided to protect and dedicate herself to him, but she knew the only way to be worthy of him was to turn herself in.
After one more night of bloody violence, as she killed at least seven assassins sent to kill Seina, she in fact walked straight to the Galaxy Police headquarters to give herself up. She gave full details of her crimes, handed over her bank accounts and stored treasures of her kills to be returned to her victims' families. She gave full credit for her "capture" to Seina and wanted her full bounty and half of her immense savings to go to him.
She was quickly sentenced to death, to be carried out in three months time.
Fuku's Astral
No one hurts Seina
When Tenchi first learned that Seina was in space he decided he would do anything to help him stay safe. Part of this was asking Washu for help. She decided the best thing would be to make a sister for Ryo-Ohki and give her to Seina. Having heard of Widow's capture and the extreme dedication she had developed for Seina, she realized that her astral (basically her soul) would make the perfect core for the new child. Fuku would have her own personality and none of Widow's memories, but the ingrained connection to Seina would remain.
So far, the only slightly suspicious behavior from Fuku has had to do with her extreme desire to protect Seina. When Tarant Shank sent an artificial human child to drug and capture the crew of the Kamidake II, Fuku recognized the danger and Seina noticed an uncharacteristically dark expression on Fuku's face.
Trivia
- The GXP novels have come just short of identifying Fuku as a direct reincarnation of Yayoi Schwael. If this is true, it also means that Widow was too.
- Widow is described as having the same intimidating presence as Lady Seto. Ringo, who was present when Mikami questioned Widow, found her shaking in fear and thinking the only time she came close to the same feeling was the first time she witnessed a meeting between Seto and Washu.
